Calculating XRPL transaction fees is straightforward. The base fee is 0.00001 XRP (10 drops). Multiply by the number of transactions and by the current XRP/USD price to get your total cost in dollars.
Total Cost (USD) = Transactions × 0.00001 XRP × XRP Price
Example Calculations (March 2026, XRP = $1.52)
- 1 transaction: $0.0000152
- 1,000 transactions: $0.0152
- 100,000 transactions: $1.52
- 1,000,000 transactions: $15.20
Fee Escalation During High Load
During periods of high network congestion, the open ledger cost increases proportionally. Each validator proposes a fee level, and the network adopts the median. This escalation is temporary.
Multi-Signature Transaction Fees
Transactions requiring multiple signatures cost proportionally more than standard transactions, as they consume more computational resources.
How to Check Current XRPL Fees
- Use the XRPL
feeRPC command for programmatic fee queries - Check XRPScan.com for live network fee tracking
- Calculate: base_fee_xrp × load_factor for the actual current cost
- Add a small buffer during periods of high network activity
